About the Artist

DALIA crop.jpg

A native of Israel, Dalia Shyevitch studied at Vitzo College for the Arts in Haifa, Israel, where she was mesmerized by the intricacies of all types of art. Although this was her only "formal" training, after Dalia came to the US in 1978, she took a few classes at Silvermine Art Guild in New Canaan, Connecticut.

Dalia decided that the class offerings were "too contemporary," so for a few years, she followed the late artist Frank Cavino, who painted in a more classical style. In 2011, Dalia moved to Sarasota and began taking classes at the Southern Atelier with wonderful local artists, and attended workshops with visiting artists from around the world. Her primary medium is oil on canvas.

Dalia feels that life is a journey, and painting is a learning process. Through her experiences, she has learned that one must enjoy the ride, and express and share the beauty in the world with what is within.

...

Painting for me is a journey.
As an artist, I paint what I translate from observation.
We all have an artist in us, and we need to express it on canvas.
My palette is the color of Love...Life.
